50 Years Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden of the University of Tübingen has been located on the Morgenstelle for the last 50 years. This is enough reason to celebrate its birthday and to look back fifty years and behind the scenes of the garden. The anniversary exhibition presents the complete history of the Botanical Garden in Tübingen, which is already several centuries old. However, the main aspect lies on the fifty years here on the Morgenstelle. What was here before the garden and how did it even get to the point that the garden was moved? The garden and many changes since 1969 are imagined because, although one cannot see it at first sight: Greenhouses and an outdoor area were planned and realized in the 1960s by well-known architects, and much of the original grounds is still preserved today. Additionally, the exhibition offers many small insights behind the scenes: which topics in the gardens are as relevant today as they were 50 years ago? How do people work in the garden, with which challenges are employees sometimes faced and what has been reconstructed? The history of the Botanical Garden of the University of Tübingen over the last 50 years and beyond is illustrated on information posters, in display cases and with many photographs, citations and newspaper clippings.
