Mummies & Co.
Why are we still interested in Egyptian mortuary practices today? Why do movies about mummies still find enthusiastic viewers? These questions can only be answered through a better understanding of the ancient Egyptians’ belief in the dead. The development and the meaning of the ancient Egyptians’ belief in the beyond is made vivid and plausible through the visit to the chamber of sacrifices, the look at coffins, statues of gods, ushebtis and amulets.
Afterwards the children will design a scarab of the heart with self-curing soft-tone which should support the heart at the divine court.
